Youth Activity Grants (YAG)

Applications close: 27/09/2024

About this fund

The Youth Activities Grant has once again been awarded £50,000.00 for 2024/25 financial year from the Common Good Fund.

The fund offers young people opportunities to contribute to their own communities and to the life of the city.

Decision making

Applications will be considered and decisions made by members of Aberdeen Youth Movement (AYM). This model ensures young people are at the heart of the decision making process.

Who can apply?

The criteria has been left open so that your application will be bound only by your own imagination.

  • The age range for grants is between 12 – 25 years old.
  • Children and young people must be actively involved in making the application and in developing the project idea.
  • Group members must live in Aberdeen.
  • Funding is not available for individuals.
  • Applicants can be from voluntary, community, or school groups, or any other organisation that supports young people.
  • Groups applying for funding must be a voluntary organisation as defined by the Council’s Voluntary Sector Policy.
  • Staff costs will not normally be funded.
  • The maximum grant available is £1,500 per application.
  • One award will be made per group per year.
  • Priority will be given to first time applicants.
  • For groups that have had grants in previous years consideration will be given to applications to further develop previously funded ideas or for new projects.

How to apply
