Music 4 U
Music 4 U is an inclusive provider of performing arts classes in Aberdeen.

We welcome participants from all backgrounds including those with support needs.
Our people-centred approach ensures a tailored learning experience in a supportive, fun and friendly environment. We offer public performance opportunities for all participants throughout the year.
Music 4 U runs nine classes per week for 50 weeks of the year from its base at Aberdeen Arts Centre and held 57 public performances across Scotland in 2019.
As a registered Trinity Arts Award Centre, young people at Music 4 U can work towards accredited qualifications whilst they participate in workshops and performances.
Background:
Music 4 U started in 2003 and became a charity in 2005.
Founder Debra Kirkness (Debbie) has a lifelong passion for singing and performing. She started Music 4 U to remove barriers to the performing arts for young people irrespective of any challenges they may face.
The charity has grown organically to deliver an extensive timetable of classes for groups including a junior and senior ensemble and an integrated stage school.
There is also a weekly Music Café which is an open mic style event for young people aged 16 to 25 who have left special education and wish to engage in music and performance.
Due to increasing demand, the class timetable has once again expanded to include Music 4 Tots classes which are aimed at pre-school children.
Music 4 U online has also been developed in response to the COVID-19 crisis and ultimately aims to offer music and drama classes to young people in remote communities.
During school holidays the charity holds outreach workshops and all participants have the opportunity to take part in professional shows and events throughout the year.
Our dedicated team of tutors, musicians, support staff and volunteers have been selected based on their ability to empathise, encourage and enrich the lives of everyone who attends Music 4 U classes.
