The Allotment Market Stall

Communities Mental Health & Wellbeing Fund

August 2022

The Allotment Market Stall (TAMS) has been helping the Aberdeen community eat healthy, locally grown food since 2013. They take excess produce from allotment holders and sell it to the public at stalls held each Friday during a 12 week period over summer in Victoria Park, Seaton Park and Duthie Park in the city.

As well as sourcing food from local growers TAMS also grows produce at their site at Grove Nurseries – not only presenting the opportunity to provide more locally grown food for sale but also to engage with green fingered volunteers.

The project was supported in part through a grant from the Scottish Government’s Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund which was distributed in the city by ACVO.

Watch our film to discover how the project is helping to promote a sense of positive wellbeing with volunteers and the wider community by bringing people together over the love of healthy, local, sustainable food.
