Aberdeen Taexali Rugby Club: Future Proof
Communities Mental Health & Wellbeing Fund
November 2022
Aberdeen Taexali Rugby Club’s mission is to help break down barriers that exist for people who ordinarily might not get involved in rugby whether that be sexual orientation, race, gender, age or experience. They want to provide a safe, inclusive and active space in the sport of rugby union.
A grant from the Communities Mental Health & Wellbeing Fund was used to purchase new equipment to help ensure the club, which has been running for over 3 years, continues to provide opportunities to those interested in playing rugby, being part of a team, staying physically active and experiencing the wellbeing benefits that this brings.
Aberdeen Taexali recognise that for the LGBT community, sports can often be difficult to engage with. That’s why they pride themselves on being an inclusive team that allows all identifying male individuals over the age of 18 to participate in a sport in a safe environment without judgement.
