The Radical Potential of Participatory Budgeting

The Radical Potential of Participatory Budgeting

Community Planning Aberdeen’s Community Empowerment Network would like to invite you to an information and networking event on 5th September.

This will be a hybrid event (in person and on ZOOM) and is open to any interested community members and professionals across Grampian. The event will take place at SHMU, with a 5pm for 5.30pm start and runs until 7pm. Sandwiches, tea and coffee will be available.

The subject of the event is “The radical potential of Participatory Budgeting”.

You may be asking, “What is Participatory Budgeting? You may already have been part of a Participatory Budgeting process? You may have organised a Participatory Budgeting process in your area? Or you may just have an interest. If so, then this is the event for you.

We will start with some short presentations from people who have organised or been part of Participatory Budgeting in their areas, and then we will move into groups to hear from each other around the following questions:

  1. What are your experiences of being involved in Participatory Budgeting?
  2. What do you feel is the potential of Participatory Budgeting?
  3. Participatory Budgeting is becoming more popular – how do we make the most of it?

This event is being run by Community Planning’s Community Empowerment Network in partnership with Grampian Engagement Network. Follow this link for Grampian Engagement Network’s website Grampian Engagement Network (GEN) and email address gram.gen@nhs.scot

Please note that Zoom details will be sent to all registered at a later date before the event.
