Join our Sensory Awareness (Sight Loss and Deaf Awareness) Training to get a better understanding of the practical and emotional impact of sight loss, hearing loss, Deafness and deafblindness, and how you might communicate with and support someone who is living with a significant sensory impairment.
The training takes place in two parts. The first part is e-learning, that provides all the theory and background knowledge about sight loss, hearing loss, Deafness and deafblindness. You will use what you have learned on the e-learning to explore the practical and emotional impact at this face-to-face training session, focusing on communication and sighted guiding skills, and relating it to everyday scenarios. You will also have a sensory lunch which is integral to the training.
This training is free to anyone who works in the public or third sector in Aberdeen City, including private care providers as it is funded by the Aberdeen See Hear Strategy Fund.
Cost for all other private companies is £80 per person.
