July Climate Café: The Military and the Climate Crisis

July Climate Café: The Military and the Climate Crisis

Join ACA and CND NE in person or online to hear about the environmental cost of building military assets and the harm done by using them.

Join Aberdeen Climate Action and CND Northest Scotland/Campaign for Peace for a free hybrid climate cafe (ACA’s 101st!) to hear about “The Military and Climate Change”, the carbon cost associated with defence and reflections on how to react to it. It’s not a subject often covered. There will be two talks:

  • Stuart Parkinson of Scientists for Global Responsibility: The global surge in military spending and military carbon emissions
  • Kate Whitacker of Friends of the Earth Scotland: Take the toys from the boys: masculinity, militarism and fossil fuels

After the talks, there will be about 40 minutes of Q&A.

You can come in person to North East Scotland College (use the Loch Street Entrance) or use the Zoom link in the ticket confirmation.
