Project description:

Touch of Love Outreach is a charitable organisation offering befriending services as well as helping to feed local Aberdeen families experiencing real hardship by meeting their most basic need for food through a weekly delivery of 3 days emergency food supplies while a longer-term solution is developed. We help anybody who needs our support; young, old, single people and families from all backgrounds, religious beliefs and ethnic origins, without prejudice. There is no charge for our food supplies. Our first strategic objective is the relief for Health and Mental Wellbeing in particular by the provision of nutritious food and other basic amenities to families suffering from disadvantage and social isolation. Our intentions are to ensure greater numbers of individuals and families within Aberdeen receive appropriate quantities of nutritious food, emotional support and additional wrap-around services, helping them to maintain their physical health and mental wellbeing. We have been achieving this, with the help of our team of very selfless volunteers who deliver food parcels to about 45 Aberdeen families weekly, and also have a 5 - 10 minutes befriending chat about how they feel and what challenges they are facing; to help us signpost them to organisations who can offer them a more permanent solution to their problems.
