Project description:

People need support while suspended on waiting lists for counselling. This pilot project aims to build coping skills and encourage people to pass these on to others. Workshops (5 sessions/ 2 hours) delivered in two settings: 1) Community of Kittybrewster, Powis and Woodside; 2) Connection with Links workers/ health visitors - Aberdeen wide. Content: -Psychological Education about anxiety and depression; -Coping strategies and sharing what works for individuals; -Exploration of the impact on families, work and life; -Communication skills and how to talk about symptoms with health professionals. Small group breakouts help to build connections and confidence in communicating.
