Project description:

Covid has had a big effect on people who already have a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder (BPD). People with this disorder can find it very difficult to cope with change and instability. Some have severe anxiety and / or serious attachment issues. During discussions with CPNs at Cornhill, it has become clear that there is a waiting list for those waiting for support from different departments in the hospital. In discussions with people who have BPD - they feel isolated and anxious without support, and it can be scary at times for them. This project will support people with BPD in 10 x 90-minute group sessions on Zoom while they are on waiting lists. Support will include understanding the disorder, psychological education, coping strategies, confidence, and self-esteem.
