Project description:

The purpose of the project is to appoint a Support Group Counsellor who has a trained and qualified background in bereavement to support women and men after miscarriage. Over the last couple of years, there has been a rise in feedback from our members asking for a counselling service within MISS due to their mental health impacting following from covid-19. Our aim is to recruit a support group counsellor, initially at 5 hours per week. The annual zoom membership and venue for support groups will be continued from previous years, these are both used for our support groups and 1:1's which are offered by our support coordinator volunteers to members for support on a regular basis. The difference this will make in our community is improving mental health and wellbeing for bereaved parents and reducing isolating as our members are able to speak to a trained professional.
