Project description:

The aim of the project is to warmly encourage members of our community who do not participate in physical activities and often consequently feel isolated, to join us and get active. We have consulted with 135 women via WhatsApp and through our monthly meetings where health issues are discussed, and suggestions are made on how to encourage and promote physical activities. Netball was the preferred option as the activity provides a great avenue for forming bonds and friendships as you work in a team. This in turn reduces isolation and loneliness along with the great mental health benefits physical exercise brings. The grant will pay for hire of the court for 10 months and equipment, enabling our community, many of whom are being impacted severely by the cost-of-living crisis, to engage in and benefit from the activity without incurring any cost.
