A post of Housing Support Adviser was created prior to the pandemic, however COVID resulted in the allocation of suitable housing taking longer, creating issues as our clients are becoming frustrated and stressed due to the extended waiting time for either a housing assessment or property allocation. It has become necessary to take telephone calls from clients who want to share their worries. Since the beginning of September, referrals for our housing service have increased significantly. Advisors telephone clients and where possible, have communicated through Zoom or Facetime. Health Benefits include improved wellbeing, stress reduction within families and reduced cold related illnesses through partnership working with energy advisers to ensure homes are well insulated and heated to a standard suitable for disabled people. This is a matched funding application, enabling us to expand the service and appoint the adviser full time- helping us to fulfill need.
