Project description:

The aim of “crafty cook” workshops is to bring people together, in a safe and inclusive environment. By working and chatting together the workshops will reduce social isolation and build community support. The project worker will provide general information during workshops for money management, budgeting, with direction given to counselling services, relevant benefits, heating ideas, citizen’s advice etc. to alleviate other pressures participants may face. Sharing activities and communicating with others during the workshops or on the social media page can help users reduce social anxiety and develop a healthier mindset. The workshops are in effect setting up a community support system whereby users will feel less lonely and isolated. Crafty Cook workshops will encourage communities to come together and support each other, not only through the present economic crises, but through any unexpected future crises thus building resilience and reducing stress.
