Project description:

The aim is to deliver two gardening courses. Both courses were developed and successfully delivered in 2022 and were received incredibly positively. The first is a 6-week Community Garden Training course where attendees learn all about the needs for setting up, or maintaining existing, community garden spaces. This will cover the logistics in setting up a community growing space, as well as garden design, lessons on composting, soil, planting, tending, and harvesting of food crops. This course will run for 2.5 hours per week giving attendees time to ask questions and interact with others. The second is an 8-week Growing and Learning Training course that covers similar activities at a more in-depth level. This course is aimed at individuals who want to learn and develop more garden skills and hopefully could give them knowledge and confidence to look for a start in employment or at least supporting gardening spaces in the city as well as their own green spaces, and will also run for 2.5 hours per week.
