Project description:

The funding will be used to deliver support for parents and carers who are struggling with social isolation, financial hardship and mental health. The project is an early intervention approach that aims to empower parents and carers to navigate their challenges, leading to positive change in their lives. A part time Family Support Co-ordinator (22.5 hours a week) will work with 20 families from 1st November 2023 to 31st March 2024. The Co-ordinator will build a supportive and trusting relationship with each parent, providing 1:1 support which is individual to each of the family’s needs. Each beneficiary will have an agreed support plan with specific, achievable goals aiming to reach a point where they can independently manage areas of their life that are affecting their mental health and wellbeing. The project will provide opportunities for people to connect with each other and their community. The Co-ordinator is informed about resources, support and groups in local communities, including grass roots organisations and statutory services, over 70 of which they can refer beneficiaries to. All families in our project will be eligible to receive care packages from November 2023 to March 2024. These will include toiletries, cleaning products and warm clothes.
