Role Description:
This exciting full-time role will lead the development and delivery of our Denis Law’s Academy programme, working directly with young people from our DLLT communities across Aberdeen. Taking a young person-centred approach, you will engage with participants to identify the personal, practical and social barriers that impact their health, wellbeing and ability to achieve their potential. Working collaboratively with young people, partners and relevant agencies, the role will coordinate and enhance Academy activities that promote positive health and wellbeing, build confidence, resilience and essential life skills, and create opportunities for personal growth. You will utilise both evidence-based and innovative approaches to support young people to overcome challenges, strengthen their sense of inclusion and belonging, and empower them to access opportunities that enable them to thrive.
Company Description:
Denis Law Legacy Trust is a registered children’s charity that operates and delivers free to access programmes and positive destination activities for young people in Aberdeen. Our activities currently engage with over 30,000 annual participations across a range of age groups and include a variety of opportunities which contribute to reductions in instances of youth crime and anti-social behaviour; improved health and wellbeing within young people; enhanced positive destinations whilst encouraging inclusivity through sport, physical activity and creative endeavour.
About You:
You will have experience of delivering sport for development programming within areas of multiple deprivation, working with young people and providing leadership to volunteers. You will also possess health and safety knowledge with a strong commitment to customer care. You will be up to date with developments in the field and hold a full clean driving license. Relevant youth work qualifications and NGB coaching awards are also desirable.
Enthusiasm and motivational skills are a must, as is the ability to relate well to young people from various backgrounds. In short, we’re looking for candidates with energy, drive and dynamism who are committed to playing a major role in the running of the Denis Law Academy programme, supporting our Streetsport programme and helping provide excellent service to both its partners and more importantly the young people of Aberdeen.
