An ideas clinic is an informal, peer learning and support event where people can come together to get into the nuts and bolts of community-led health – it’s somewhere to discuss and explore your experiences and talk about new ideas and tricky problems.
You will be able to use your knowledge to help others, receive support and advice, and most importantly, make connections with like-minded folks.
Our session will start with brief presentations from three folks in the CHEX network who have an idea or issue to share. You can then choose which breakout room is most interesting or relevant to you, and join the room to chat through the topic and share knowledge and support.
As this is our first time running an event like this, we’re on the lookout for people to present an idea or an issue. This could be an example of good practice in community-led health in your area, learning from a project, an ask for help with a challenging situation – anything relevant to community-led health.
Our clinic will be very informal (and we definitely avoid ‘death by powerpoint’!). You simply need to outline your idea or issue to everyone for around 5 minutes and then whoever is interested then join your breakout group. You’ll then give the folks in your smaller group a few more more details and background and the group will dig into a bit of discussion.
This format is designed to create a space for people to openly chat through challenging and nuanced thoughts and ideas with peers, so the session will not be recorded. We’ll share any useful resources and links with the attendees afterwards and you can feel free to swap contact details with the other attendees if you make a connection!
