Understand and adapt to climate change, build your organisation’s resilience, and understand how this can support delivery of your mission.
What is it?
Sniffer is offering a one-day Climate Resilience Training workshop for third sector organisations. This session is open to voluntary organisations operating in Aberdeen and the surrounding areas. The session will run from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Aberdeen Arts Centre, with lunch provided.
This training aims to boost climate resilience across Scotland’s voluntary organisations.
It’s designed to provide the tools and knowledge needed to tackle both current and future impacts of climate change. The training will be run in a small group (around 10 participants) to ensure plenty of time for conversations and exchange between the participants.
The day will include an introduction to climate resilience, hands-on exercises, and opportunities for participants to exchange knowledge and experiences.
Why participate?
Organisations face increasing risks from climate-related events like flooding, heatwaves, and storms. This training will help your voluntary organisation to build resilience and learn how to cope with the impacts of climate change.
Addressing climate change may seem like a massive challenge — it is complex and it isn’t easy to know where to start. But it is both crucial and possible to build resilience and adapt to the changing climate whilst tackling other important issues in your community.
By the end of the training, you will have:
- A checklist of climate risks relevant to your organisation
- Identified potential adaptation actions to make your organisation more climate resilient
