Hours | Part time sessional – total of 4 hours per week worked over 2 days (2 hours per session). Sessions typically run between 15:00-17:00. Exact days and timing of sessions negotiable. |
Pay | £9 per hour |
JOB PURPOSE
- To plan, organize and implement interesting and enjoyable activities with residents of Simeon House.
- To enthuse and encourage volunteers, befrienders, family members and the care team to take part in activities with residents.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Position Reports to: Manager
Secondary Report : Care Team Leader on duty
Directly Supervises You will be working on your own, and from time to time with volunteers, family or care team members in the delivery of activities.
Total Number in Team Supervised: 1-3 at any one time
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Planning and implementing seasonal activities in house.
- Involving, consulting and informing residents, their families and friends, and the care team in activities plans.
- Planning and implementing outings if appropriate
- Supporting older people on a one-to-one basis to support their emotional and psychological needs.
- Supporting volunteers, befrienders and care staff to provide activities in groups or one to one.
- Provide opportunities for continued learning.
- Keep simple records of resident participation in activities.
- Attend training courses as required by the organisation to ensure level of competency is maintained.

Homemaking & Laundry Assistant

Simeon House is a purpose built care home for 23 residents. All bedrooms have ensuite facilities, and enjoy direct access to, or views of our gardens.
The Homemaking Team works closely with all the other teams in Simeon to help create a warm and welcoming community. Taking care of and showing respect for the residents’ personal belongings and their rooms is very important to them, especially as most decorate their room with precious mementos of their long lives.
Cook

Join the Simeon Care team to prepare home cooked mid-day meal, and supper for approx. 40 people using locally sourced fresh produce. The Cook on shift has responsibility for the day to day running of the kitchen and the delivery of quality meals to the residents and staff.
