The Allotment Market Stall (TAMS) are inviting people of the North East to come along and see first hand how their wildlife friendly growing space is developing.
TAMS Tour at the Grove takes place on Sunday 18th of June between 2pm-4pm at their Grove Nursery Site in Hazlehead, Aberdeen. All are welcome with refreshments provided.
As well as taking the chance to see the huge positive influence of community growing and volunteering, TAMS are also hosting a fun nature trail for all ages as part of the event.
TAMS has been helping the Aberdeen community eat healthy, locally grown food since 2013. They take excess produce from allotment holders and sell it to the public at stalls held each Friday during a 12 week period over summer in Victoria Park, Seaton Park and Duthie Park in the city.
As well as sourcing food from local growers TAMS also grows produce at their site at Grove Nurseries – not only presenting the opportunity to provide more locally grown food for sale but also to engage with green fingered volunteers.
The Grove Nursery project was supported in part through a grant from the Scottish Government’s Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund which was distributed in the city by ACVO.
More information about TAMS can be found at their website at https://theallotmentmarketstall.org.uk/ you can also find a map with directions to the site below as well as a film produced by ACVO which highlights the work of TAMS
