The first 2025 edition of ACVO News is out now! We hope everyone had a lovely festive break and a good new year so far. Now as we head into February, we are delighted to be back bringing you all the latest third sector news, updates and opportunities from Aberdeen’s third sector.
We kick-start this news with a full schedule of ACVO events for you to come along to! Take a look at the line-up, ranging from online lunch & learns to in-person events covering a variety of topics such as funding, governance, finance, communications and more.
We are also delighted to invite you to our Third Sector Support Day on Tuesday 25th February where you can receive specialised, expert advice from members of the ACVO team! More information about our events can be found on pages 4-7 – we look forward to seeing you!
This month, Lesley Simpson from the British Liver Trust kindly sat down and spoke to us about how the national organisation tackles liver disease by raising awareness of this health issue. She details how the British Liver Trust supports those affected by the disease, building connections in local areas as well as their national Love Your Liver campaign in January.
Another highlight in the February news is ACVO’s Gette Cobban and Aberdeen City Council’s Kris O’Mahoney’s conversation about Corporate Parenting. They discuss the brand new training on offer to the third sector workforce to ensure they are well equipped when it comes to being a Corporate Parent. They also emphasise the importance of how Corporate Parenting is a collective responsibility in fulfilling The Promise in Aberdeen and across Scotland as a whole.
These are your updates and this is your news.
