Care and Repair welcomed guests late June for an informative event showcasing the wide range of services available to help people live more independently in their own homes.
Held in Aberdeen, the event brought together Occupational Therapists, local authority representatives, and housing providers from across the region. Attendees had the chance to see modular ramps, handrails, and other practical adaptations that make everyday life easier—while meeting two of our trusted suppliers from AKW and Geberit to discuss their products.
One of the highlights was a demonstration of the Geberit AquaClean Mera Care shower toilet, a clever all-in-one solution developed specifically for independent living. Care and Repair is now an approved installer of this innovative product and can offer residents across Aberdeen City and the surrounding area a supply-and-fit service at a fixed price.
Visitors were impressed by the wide range of support/services Care and Repair can offer—from small repairs and adaptations to benefit guidance and much more.
“People seemed very interested in the raised toilet and how such a small change can make a world of difference to those wanting to stay in their own home,” said Karen Milne, Manager at Care and Repair.
The event also allowed professionals to meet the Care and Repair Team, put a face to the name and improve our connections with each other through partnership working. Housing providers were interested in finding out more about our modular ramps and rails and this will be followed up by our Technical Team.
The event was a great success, with lots of networking and positive conversations and ideas shared. It was a reminder that small changes can have a big impact and that support is out there for those who need it.
