The project was made possible through a £10,000 grant from the Community & Coast Fund, delivered by ETZ Ltd. in partnership with ACVO TSI.
Representatives from ETZ Ltd. and ACVO TSI joined residents on Wednesday 29 April 2026 for the official opening celebration at Brimmond Court in Torry. The project was one of 15 community led initiatives supported through Year 2 of the Community & Coast Fund, which provided £100,000 in funding for local groups delivering projects across Torry and Cove.
The funding helped transform the outdoor area into a safer, more accessible and more usable space through the installation of new pathways, a patio area and a sheltered seating space. The improvements have created a garden where residents can socialise, relax outdoors and take part in activities and events within the garden.
The Brimmond Court Residents Association said the project aimed to “bring a little sunshine into our lives” by creating a space where residents could enjoy fresh air, spend time together and feel more connected within their community.
Isabelle Corbett, Secretary of the Brimmond Court Residents Association, said:
“We are absolutely delighted with how the garden has turned out and the difference it has already made for residents here at Brimmond Court. It has completely transformed the area into a space that people can enjoy together.”
“Residents are already spending more time outdoors, chatting with neighbours, enjoying the fresh air and making use of the new seating and sheltered areas. With the summer months ahead, it will be wonderful to see the garden being used even more by residents and for the community to enjoy the space together. We’re incredibly grateful for the support that has helped make this possible.”
The garden project follows an earlier £10,000 grant awarded through Year 1 of the fund, which supported the refurbishment of Brimmond Court’s communal kitchen facilities. The upgraded kitchen has since become an important hub for residents, hosting coffee mornings, shared meals and community activities within the building. Together, both projects have helped improve shared spaces for residents, creating more opportunities to connect, socialise and enjoy community life within Brimmond Court.
