We are delighted to launch the November 2025 edition of ACVO News, our monthly magazine showcasing the work, achievements and opportunities across Aberdeen’s third sector.

In this month’s edition, read words from Rebecca Finnie and Olivia Turnbull from MCR Pathways as they share the charity’s latest initiative which focuses on community-based mentoring for young people. Also, find out how MCR Pathways is keeping The Promise in Aberdeen to ensure young people grow up loved, safe and respected.

We are also excited to share our latest film showcasing Inchgarth Community Centre’s Men’s Club. Hear from those who attend the weekly club and how having the chance and space to socialise has helped members with their mental health and confidence.

Finally, discover the latest ACVO updates: watch Sandy Mathers’ quick guide and introduction to Scottish charities, don’t miss out on up to £10,000 in funding for Torry & Cove community projects and join us at our AGM.

Other highlights from November’s ACVO News include:

  • Empower Aberdeen, organised by Scarf, brings together 60 local charities and organisations to provide face-to-face support to residents of Aberdeen.
  • Winners of the Celebrate Aberdeen 2025 Awards are announced, with Morven Mackenzie, founder of Celebrate Aberdeen, presented the Lifetime Achievement Award.
  • The Santa Run returns as Charlie House invites families, friends and even four-legged companions to dash through the city this festive season.
