Pledge your support before September 1st to see four times the impact for people facing crisis
North-East charity Aberdeen Cyrenians is asking organisations and individuals to pledge their support for people facing crisis. This year’s campaign: Give Hope a Home, will help the crisis and social care charity to support growing numbers of vulnerable people unable to cope with the rising cost-of-living. Pledgers will play a vital role help to unlock further funding that enables lifelines to be provided.
As Donna Hutchison, Head of Corporate and Business Services explained, “Pledges are the foundation of our annual match funding appeal. By making a commitment of support we will be able to secure more funding from the Big Give, encouraging more public donations during the campaign in December.
“By raising money as part of the Big Give, it enables us to offer companies the opportunity to multiply their impact, making a visible commitment to their Social ESG goals, and deepen local community connections.”
“Last year the Christmas campaign raised an incredible £55,912 thanks to the generosity and compassion of our local community. Now in our 55th year, we’re aiming to beat that target and give hope to the thousands of people in Aberdeen that are struggling alone.”
The Big Give Pledge Drive runs until September 1st offering interested organisations the opportunity to make four times the impact with their donation pledge.
Later the Big Give Christmas Challenge will launch for donations on #GivingTuesday November 28 and run for one week closing on December 5.
The charity is asking for organisations and individuals to pledge a minimum of £100 so that donations can be multiplied to make an even greater impact for those who need it the most.
Donna Hutchison, Head of Corporate and Business Services said, “The kindness that exists in Aberdeen gives hope to so many people. The challenges of the cost-of-living crisis is not going away; in fact, it is impacting a greater number of people in Aberdeen by the day. Demand for our services remain sky high with people drowning in a wave of poverty, unstable food prices, fuel poverty, insecure tenancies, unsafe homes/housing environment, and mental health challenges. Uncertainty is all around, but we know change is possible.”
“Christmas may be 6 months away, but by becoming a pledger an organisation can make a huge difference and give hope a home.
“We want to thank everyone for their continued support throughout the year. We couldn’t do our work without the generosity of our north-east community.”
