About this fund
Applying for Funding
- We run two grant rounds each year. This year our focus is on young women and girls who have been in the criminal justice system or who are at a high risk of entering it.
- The application process has three stages as this gives us the best chance of understanding your proposal and how it links to our aims and our overall Theory of Change.
- Following the submission of a short Expression of Interest you may be invited to submit a full online application which is reviewed by our staff and Trustees.
- Applications that are recognised as being a close fit to our criteria will be asked to host an assessment visit with our Director. This is an opportunity for us to find out more about the work you do and the project you would like us to support.
Changes to our application process
- We will be adding an additional Expression of Interest stage to our application process.
- All applicants will need to do our eligibility checker and those who appear to fit our criteria will be offered the opportunity to submit a short EOI.
- If after reviewing your EOI we consider that your proposal is a strong fit with the work we wish to fund we will invite you to submit a full proposal.
- We have limited resources and can only fund a very small number of the applications we receive. it is important that you answer the eligibility checker questions honestly to avoid wasting your time and resources on a longer application that will be unsuccessful.
GRANT SIZE
Grants of up to £100,000 for a duration of 18, 24, 30 or 36 months. The amount of funding requested must be proportional to the project being undertaken
A maximum of £50,000 per year can be requested
SECTORS WE SUPPORT
Community and voluntary organisations who can demonstrate a track record of working with young people in contact with the criminal justice system or vulnerable hard to engage young people on the edge of the criminal justice system.
In 2026 our focus is projects working with young women and girls. Please check the eligibility criteria before submitting an application as only certain types of organisations are eligible to apply. In our first round we will only fund work delivered by organisations that are ‘for’ and ‘led by’ women and girls or organisations that are considered ‘issue experts’ in the specific areas we want to support.
GEOGRAPHICAL REACH
We support not for profit organisations working anywhere within the UK, with a registered UK office.
We particularly welcome applications from organisations working in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
Looking for support with funding?
Identifying funding opportunities and writing grant applications can seem overwhelming, especially when the future sustainability of your group is dependent on gaining funding support.
Our supportive Funding Officer, Claire Shaw, can help your organisation with every step of the funding application process, from carrying out funding searches to proofreading your application.
