Funding

The Trades Widows’ Fund

Funding available: up to £5,000

Applications close: 16/11/2026

About this fund

The Trades Widows’ Fund Charity Trustees wish to invite grant applications from Charities, local community groups, and organisations offering support to individuals, communities and children experiencing hardship arising from food poverty, illness, need for clothing, and the need for general support. The Trustees will prioritise local community groups and organisations seeking grants of up to £2,500 and if successful the Fund’s preference would be to provide grants via the direct purchase of goods, services, or materials. Charity grants will be limited to £5,000 per application unless exceptional circumstances are demonstrated. We currently do not support salary or construction costs.

As the colder months approach, we are focusing help where it’s needed most:

  • food poverty
  • illness
  • daily living and support needs
  • and other vital services within the city

Please note that the closing date for applications will be the 16th of November 2026 at 1pm.
