We would like to organise a day trip out of the City (maybe to the coast or countryside) where older tenants within our community can shop or sightsee in a different environment. This trip would include transport, refreshments on the bus and a high tea at the venue. Since the pandemic, many of our older tenants have lost their confidence in going out of their home and socialising and are very lonely and socially isolated. The cost-of-living crisis has made the situation even worse for the older tenants who may have liked to socialise, however they are no longer able to afford to. The Association wants to do all it can to encourage residents to engage with the Mastrick community. We hope a trip somewhere will help to build confidence and encourage our older residents to connect with other people in the building. It will also be lovely for them to have a change of scenery as many have not ventured out of the City since COVID.
