Gairn Court Programme of Activities
About the project
The Association is applying to the fund to encourage more residents to come into the common room rather than spending all their time in their homes, seeing very few people apart from Bon Accord staff. Since January a concerted effort has been made by a core of new committee members to reinvigorate the programme of activities. Initially there was a little negativity; however, with the support from Carol Hannaford, the atmosphere has improved significantly, and some residents are now emerging from their homes and wanting to socialise with others within Gairn Court. The Association is now keen to run a social programme of events and trips to enable residents to socialise and hopefully grow the numbers of volunteers on our committee.
Type of initiative funded: Group Activity
Key priority area: Social isolation and loneliness
Funding awarded: £2000
