Feeling Revitalised – Short Breaks for Carers across Aberdeen City
About the project
We will provide short breaks to 174 carers across Aberdeen City. At Quarriers Aberdeen Carer Support Service, our support is person-centred, therefore, carers will choose a short break of their choice, which matches their interests. Carers have said that they would welcome short breaks such as spa days, gym passes, a bus trip to Perth, a ferry to Shetland, theatre trips, or going out for an evening meal. The breaks will help carers to ‘recharge their batteries’, and regain a sense of self, as well as offer a boost to confidence. The short breaks will add to carers' quality of life where they will be able to return to their caring roles feeling revitalised. Carers will also have a network of friendships and supportive services and will feel more confident in taking a break. In many cases, this will help families to become stronger and prevent family relationship breakdown.
