Project description:

We have a member of our community who is qualified, has the licence and insurance to teach a Swedish Style exercise to our BPD community in Aberdeen and feels very passionate about how it’s helped their mental health and wellbeing. We would like to add an exercise class to our services as we believe that promoting exercise to improve mental wellbeing is key. More than ever, after the pandemic, there is a need for mental and physical wellbeing. We would like to provide our community with a free exercise class that is all inclusive to any level of fitness at any age. Our face-to-face numbers dropped dramatically after the pandemic, as we are a close contact group, many community members still stayed in isolation. The instructor and BPD Support Community Member describes his class as “it is movement to music that feels therapeutic and leaves a lovely feeling of togetherness. It lifts people up!” We believe that this project will help bring people out of isolation and loneliness, improving their physical and mental health and wellbeing.
