Project description:

The funding will be used to start a family support project for marginalised and socially isolated parents and carers, particularly focusing on those living in disadvantaged areas of Aberdeen City. Through our work with children and young people across Aberdeen during the pandemic we have identified families who are struggling due to hardship and isolation. The aim of the project is to build supportive relationships with marginalised families, helping to remove barriers within their lives and enable parents to strengthen their mental health and wellbeing and make positive changes in their lives. A new member of staff, the Family Support Co-ordinator, will recruited on a fixed term contact for the duration of the project. The families can call them anytime for advice or guidance. The team member will reach out to parents on a regular basis to see how they are and provide wellbeing support, this may be guidance (eg self-care, parenting issues) or a much needed listening ear
