About this fund
What qualifies for our help and funding
We help people and groups based in England, Scotland, Wales and Jersey.
Our funding focus is about connecting or re-connecting older people, and adults with disabilities or mental health conditions, with others in their local community.
We help individuals, but please note that all applications for named individuals must be completed by a professional who is supporting the individual.
We also help small community groups and small local charities. We will examine your accounts, and in particular your balance sheet. As a guideline, it is very unlikely that we would be able to help if you have financial reserves over £200,000.
We help groups with:
- Activity projects
- Equipment/materials for use by members
- Transport costs to enable members to attend
- Day trips, outings or UK group holidays
Our grants for groups range from £100 up to £2,600.
It takes us up to 10 weeks to process an application.
Grants will not be made to groups and charities for:
- Core/running costs, including salaries and venue hire
- Indirect services such as helplines, websites, newsletters, leaflets or research
- Building/renovation projects or large capital projects
- Training of staff and training of volunteers
- Foodbank provision, unless part of a food preparation or activity project
- Activities for residents in a care home operated by Barchester Healthcare or by any other care home company
- Retrospective funding (void if already purchased or taken place)
- Repeat funding within our three-year exclusion policy (following a successful grant award)
