As a Youth Development Coach, you will build trusted relationships with young people, helping them identify their strengths, overcome barriers and achieve goals that matter to them. Through one-to-one support, group activities and practical interventions, you will encourage young people to build confidence, develop life skills and make positive choices.

Using a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach, you will work collaboratively with families, schools, community organisations and partner agencies to provide early intervention and coordinated support.

You will be someone who:

-Believes in young people and their potential.
-Builds positive, trusting relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
-Is empathetic, resilient and able to respond calmly to challenging situations.
-Works creatively and flexibly to engage young people.
-Promotes young people’s voice, choice and independence.
-Communicates effectively and works well both independently and as part of a team.

Experience and Skills

You will ideally have experience supporting young people through youth work, housing, social care, education, criminal justice, employability or community services.

You should have:

-An understanding of trauma-informed practice, safeguarding and confidentiality.
-Knowledge of the challenges facing young people, including housing insecurity and barriers to opportunity.
-Strong communication, organisation and digital skills.
-A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Additional requirements:

-PVG membership for working with young people and adults is required.
-Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential/desirable.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a developing service where you can help shape support for young people and contribute to positive, lasting change.
