International Overdose Awareness Day 2021

Marischal College in Aberdeen was illuminated purple on Tuesday 31st August 2021 to mark International Overdose Awareness Day.

As part of the occasion, a peaceful protest was arranged outside the building to shine a light on the issue of overdose and to remember those who have been lost.

Fraser Hoggan of Alcohol & Drugs Action and Dermot Craig of Aberdeen in Recovery explain how they are working to reduce the stigma around addiction and overdose death in the city through their networks and programmes of support.
