About the project

As a support group, we are aware that sometimes being indoors can be restrictive and not entirely private, therefore we talked about organising an outing. Walking and generally being outdoors have a huge impact on our physical and mental health. Most of our participants are single mothers, who quite often suffer from low self-worth and for whom being outdoors would be the least of priority but who would benefit from it greatly. Involving them in planning and helping them achieve the goal can be empowering and can boost their self-esteem

Type of initiative funded: Befriending

Key priority area: Suicide prevention

Funding awarded: £2565
