VSA Re-Connect service

About the project

Our goal is to relaunch our VSA Re-Connect service. This is a service that anyone can access, no formal mental health diagnosis required, that would be a safe and supported activity space for those suffering from loneliness and isolation. We would have monthly activity calendar consisting of various activities Monday through Friday and it would consist of fixed weekly activities, bowling or pool, coffee meetups and exercise groups for walks or swims. There would also be scope to attend local events such concerts at the art gallery or visit museums and galleries. Day trips away, such as to Stonehaven or Peterhead, would also be provided for in the summer months. We would also provide a 1:1 support session for those in attendance giving them an opportunity to access additional support, be signposted to other services or any other goals or tasks they required help withs such as forms or applications. The calendar of activities would be designed in consultation with those using the service to ensure we are fulfilling their needs and wants, fostering interaction and giving them the power and responsibility over their own lives.
