About the project

Our aim is to continue to create a service that is accessible to everyone by trying to tackle the poverty gap in the local area and that is accessible to anyone regardless of their background. As the demand has increased we have found that our service users require more support in other areas such as: housing, money, mental health, energy bills. We have been able to provide this with the help of other organisations that we have gained access to by partnership working. We have found that our users are more relaxed and happy to discus their many issues with these advisors once they have had a cup of tea and toast and also being in an informal setting sees them relax and to be able to have an open conversation. We now have users that are still users but now also volunteer in the foodbank and café areas and are able to provide assistance to new people coming in or can offer advice or signpost people when out and about in the local community.
