Support for struggling families

About the project

We will provide 1:1 home visiting support to 8 families on the verge of crisis and breakdown. Referrals may typically come from self, health visitors, social workers or wellbeing hubs. Trained and supervised volunteers will visit each family weekly, for around 2.5 hours. Peer-to-peer support lasts a year, on average. By directly supporting parents, we estimate we will also provide secondary support to 16 children. This supports parts B and C of the Best Start Bright Futures: Tackling Child Poverty Delivery Plan.
