Kadampa Meditation Centre Aberdeen

Meditation Classes for preventative mental health well-being & social support

About the project

The key aim is to continue to offer meditation classes at our Aberdeen centre and to build on our strengthening community within the centre. People from wide demographics are welcomed and we offer a safe accepting environment where people can relax, learn tools for looking after their mental health and build relationships with others. Thanks to the support of this grant, our classes have become popular and help provide tools for training in maintaining good mental health and preventing mental health problems from arising by providing methods for problem solving and resilience, as well as deeper classes in Buddhist philosophy that help with mental well-being. Also, we have been able to give people the opportunity to become involved with volunteering at the centre, thereby addressing their social isolation as well as help with the running of the centre.
