Project description:

This project would cover the costs of increasing our development workers hours to deliver the following sections of our project. We would provide 36 entertainment events in 9 sheltered housing complexes in Garthdee, Torry, Holburn, Kincorth, Broomhill, Mannofield, Hazelhead, Cove for those who cannot easily travel to community venues. We would provide 3 large fish supper days for 100 pensioners, those with disabilities, unemployed, or with health problems as a tool to promote inclusion, tackle isolation, and further engagement with our service. We would organise a large open day for the community in late April 2024 to bring up to 700 people to the centre where there will be cake, inflatables and up to 100 community stalls, mental health organisations, charities, service providers, professionals, and partners. The aim will be to ensure people are encouraged to get oot n aboot, be made aware of numerous support services in the city, bring people of all ages together, act as the catalyst to positive engagement with the community to tackle isolation and improve mental health. We would deliver 10 sessions of monthly community entertainment for family units, the elderly, those with ASN.
