Project description:

The funding is for an Activities Co-ordinator, equipment, transport and activities. The co-ordinator will liaise with service users to introduce and develop the activities they want and organise and schedule the activities. There will be in excess of 10 activities a week including craft sessions, exercise sessions, a walking group and monthly socials. We hope to open up the service to many more people out with Archway too. It will make a huge difference to many hundreds of people living in Aberdeen. The Covid-19 crisis has not only had a devastating impact on the lives of those with learning disabilities, but also of those caring for them. They have been under enormous stress providing care at home without many of the support services they relied on previously. Many have seen a deterioration in both their physical and mental well-being as a result. The scheme will not only aid the mental health and wellbeing of those attending, but of those caring for them too.
