The project will create an 'Alliance model' to strengthen the Aberdeen Befriending Network, expanding membership from 10 to 20 organisations to reduce social isolation, a major factor in mental health decline. We will co-design services with individuals with lived experience, ensuring they meet the needs of isolated groups and improve wellbeing. The initiative will engage 20 new volunteers, foster collaboration, and provide befriending training to enhance support quality. Advocacy and an annual campaign, aligned with Befriending Week, will raise awareness of isolation’s impact on mental health. Improved coordination will provide timely support for individuals at risk of mental health deterioration.
