Local Businesses Invited to Join Somebody Cares’ Caring at Christmas Campaign

Reading time: 2 minutes

Somebody Cares Aberdeen is launching its annual Caring at Christmas campaign and inviting local businesses to become Corporate Partners in bringing comfort, dignity, and joy to families and individuals across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire this festive season.

Last year, thanks to the support of generous corporate partners and community donors, Somebody Cares provided 44,356 Christmas meals for families and individuals, 639 gifts for local children to open on Christmas morning, and 107 gifts for single parents who might otherwise have gone without.

This year, the need is even greater. As the cost-of-living crisis continues to impact households across the region, more families are facing impossible choices between heating their homes and putting food on the table. For many, Christmas brings worry instead of warmth.

“At Somebody Cares, we believe that no one in our community should be forgotten,” said Alison Topley, Chief Operating Officer at Somebody Cares Aberdeen. “Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, we can provide not just food parcels and gifts, but a feeling of comfort and dignity to people navigating some of the biggest challenges they’ll ever face.”

Somebody Cares is offering flexible partnership opportunities that allow businesses of all sizes to make a meaningful impact:

Workplace Food Collections – Teams can build festive food hampers using the charity’s Christmas Hamper List, turning collecting into a fun team challenge.

Corporate Fundraising – From Christmas Jumper Days to festive quiz nights, every pound raised helps. Just £100 can provide a 12-day festive food parcel and gift for an individual.

Team Volunteering – Corporate volunteer sessions begin 17 November, offering hands-on opportunities to pack hampers, sort toys, and prepare Christmas Eve bags at the Somebody Cares warehouse.

“By joining us as a Caring at Christmas Partner, businesses aren’t just helping to feed families – they’re showing what compassion in action looks like,” added Topley. “Whether raising funds, building hampers, or volunteering as a team, every contribution brings care to thousands across our community.”

Businesses interested in becoming a Caring at Christmas Corporate Partner can find out more by contacting the Somebody Cares team at caringatchristmas@somebodycaresscotland.org.

Corporate volunteer sessions fill up quickly, and businesses are encouraged to get in touch early to secure their team’s place this festive season.
