This month we bring you another jam-packed edition, including the incredible work of CFINE’s HOPE programme. This project supports prisoners to rebuild their lives after release with the help of workshops, creative expression, practical support and community service. Hear from participants of the programme as well as Angus Carmichael (Justice Development Worker) and Kara Shepherd (volunteer) – read the full feature from page 24.

We also take a closer look at TechFest’s EnergyXplorer Toolkit and how it is empowering the next generation by exploring renewable energy while promoting a greener future. After receiving support from the Just Transition PB Fund in Year 2, Dr Yashka Smith discusses the Toolkit as well as the importance of having your say in what projects should receive funding as the Year 3 vote opens soon.

The ACVO Team are also excited to invite our members to our upcoming 2024 AGM on Wednesday 13th November (10:30am – 1pm) taking place at CLAN House. We will be sharing our reflections from this busy but rewarding year and providing the opportunity for attendees to catch-up and network with our third sector.

These are your updates and this is your news.

We are always on the lookout for stories and features – if something is happening in Aberdeen you think we should know about you can get in touch with ACVO’s Communication Officer Andrew at andrew.davidson@acvo.org.uk or ACVO’s Digital Media Assistant Emily at emily.shepherd@acvo.org.uk so we can highlight your work.
