The June edition of ACVO News is out now!

All the latest news, updates and highlights from the third sector in Aberdeen

This month we kick-off this year’s special 40th anniversary Volunteers’ Week 2024! Have a read of all the wonderful messages sent in from those who work and are involved in Aberdeen’s vibrant third sector. We also bring you impactful volunteer stories from Alcohol and Drugs Action and Four Pillars, where volunteers describe their experience with giving back time and making a difference in their communities.

We also share exciting news from Community Planning Aberdeen as Denis Law Legacy Trust’s brand new Cruyff Court Willie Miller opens in Tillydrone. A great day was had by members of the community as the new court was opened by Willie Miller himself, as well as Doug Rougvie and Neil Simpson. Discover how through partnership working this court will become a safe space for young people to play outdoors and use in Tillydrone.

This month we are also excited to announce the ETZ Ltd Community & Coast Fund which will open for applications in September 2024. With £100,000 being made available to community and third sector groups in Torry and Cove, funds will be distributed to projects that will help benefit local green spaces in the area. ACVO is excited to help empower the Torry and Cove communities later this year!

As always, we have the latest updates from Team ACVO including Alasdair Ross and Mike Melvin with important news regarding proposals for PVG fees, Gette Cobban sharing the latest Promise news and a charity regulation update from Alasdair.

These are your updates and this is your news.
