Services to Third Sector
MHA Henderson Loggie is one of the top providers of audit services to the charity sector in Scotland. The firm currently has a client list of over 300 charities Scotland-wide, ranging in income, size, legal structure and activity. We act for these clients in various capacities including the provision of both internal and external audit, accounting, tax, payroll, VAT and advisory services.
Members of our charities team are regularly invited to speak at national charity conferences including the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) Charities Conference. Our Head of Charities, Jamie Davidson sits on the ICAS Charities Technical Panel and the firm is a member of the Scottish Charity Finance Group.
The strength of our charity team relative to the size of the firm is demonstrated in that 4 out of our 12 audit and accountancy partners and directors spend more than 50% of their time working on charity and not for profit clients.
Commitment to the Third Sector
Our team has an excellent working knowledge of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP): Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102). We also have a sound knowledge of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 together with the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 and 2010.
