Wellbeing Fund worth £50million launched for 3rd Sector Organisations

You may have seen the news recently that the Scottish Government announced a new £33 Million fund for 3rd Sector Organisations in Scotland combatting COVID-19 in their local communities.

£10m has already been allocated for immediate priorities and £7 million has been committed to provide around 2,000 charities with small grants through Corra, Inspiring Scotland, STV Appeal, SCVO and Scotland’s Third Sector Interfaces (TSIs).

The remaining £33 million is now open to bids from 3rd Sector Organisations.

Funds have supported the purchase and delivery of food, activities to support people’s mental health and wellbeing, co-ordination of local activity and staff and volunteer expenses. It is anticipated that the fund will continue to support those things and much more.

Commenting on the launch of the fund, Maggie Hepburn, Chief Executive of ACVO said:

Already we have seen a phenomenal response by Aberdeen’s 3rd Sector to the COVID-19 virus.  The launch of this will ensure that these organisations can continue to deliver this vital work for all Aberdonians and I would encourage all organisations to register their interest!”

The Wellbeing Fund is now open for expressions of interest from all 3rd sector organisations.
