About the Role

We are an independent award winning charity providing counselling and supporting people with their mental health. We work to encourage, empower and enable our clients, and improve wellbeing.

You will work as part of a small team to meet annual income targets in line with the funding strategy, by maximising income and engagement from charitable trusts and foundations. You will maintain and develop funder relationships, seeking out new funding opportunities to facilitate financial sustainability and growth.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of plans to achieve income targets focusing on existing and new grant funders, through research and creating applications and proposals
  • Contribute to the organisational budget planning process
  • Maintain and develop a funding pipeline
  • Ensure effective and accurate recording of funding information
  • Collate information, write and submit funding applications to secure both restricted and unrestricted funding
  • Evaluate and report on the impact of funding activity against activity targets
  • Achieve agreed income targets
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in developing projects to secure funding in line with the organisational strategy
  • Work with colleagues to support a donor centred approach

Person specification

  • Experience in the charity sector with a focus on charitable grants and trust fundraising and a proven track record of successful income generation
  • Ability to organise personal workload and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in using excel
  • Excellent people skills, adaptable and flexible
